Flaxby Park Golf and Country Club

Situated on the A1M motorway between York and Harrogate in the north of England, the Troon-managed 'Flaxby' is an acclaimed 18-hole championship-standard layout just short of 7,000 yards in length, with 9-hole resort-style course, both very strategically-designed .

The 18 Hole Championship Course

Surveyed in 1993, designed and construction managed monthly by David Hemstock directly for 4 years, over 500,000 cubic metres of soil as been moved to shape the course.  It features USGA-type greens, 5 tees per hole, 10 new ponds and lakes, over 25,000 new trees planted, and a state-of-the art driving range and golf academy (soon to be a Lee Westwood branded academy).  The range has tees at both ends, over 300 yards apart, and is spacious enough not to require any ball-stop fencing, giving the impression that you are practising in the wide-open spaces of the main course. Alongside is a large putting green, chipping zone and a variety of bunker style/sand fill types.

The Temple 9 Hole Course

The 9-hole 'Temple' course is a tough 6,000-yard equivalent length layout intended to complement the main course for golf society use and pay-and-play golfers. Since opening in 2008, it has proven to be very popular with those who want a less demanding golfing experience, with less time taken to play a round.

Work on the 300-room hotel with integral Clubhouse began in 2012
